Channel X Radio is a 100% Aroostook County, Maine owned company. We built all of our stations from "the ground up" beginning in 1986… Our two owners are Maine Broadcasters of the Year and inductee's into the Maine Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Until 2018 we were likely the only Broadcast Company in Maine to have 3 Award winners working simultaneously on the same staff. Douglas Christensen, our co-founder was the first inductee in 2000. Pam Curley was next in 2001 and Richard Chandler was added in 2009.
Channel X Radio broadcasts…simulcasts…from four locations in Aroostook County, all four along the New Brunswick border: Caribou-Presque Isle-Fort Fairfield, Madawaska, Van Buren, and Fort Kent *. We are on the air, in stereo, 24-hours a day, seven days a week. As a result, we serve more people in Aroostook County, with a city-grade coverage signal, than any of our broadcast competitors. And remember, Aroostook County is the sixth largest county in the state of Maine with a population of 70,000. In addition, we place a city grade signal over an area of New Brunswick that is home to about 53,000 people.
